Cala Poncet is a small, intimate beach. It's just 80 metres long and 6 metres wide with a mixture of fine and coarse sand. The sea bed very shallow, only three 3.5 metres deep when you're 100 metres from the shore. Cala Poncet is sheltered from the powerful Tramuntana wind and has beautiful views over the east part of Alcúdia's Bay and Cape Farrutx.
When the evening is fine, neighbours come here to chat, as the sun goes down. A perfect end to a beautiful day; this is when Cala Poncet is at its most beautiful.
Close to the beach you'll find plenty of restaurants, bars, hotels and supermarkets. Although it's surrounded by a residential area and can be quite touristy Cala Poncet still retains an unspoilt character and charm. |
