Sa Platgeta is also located in the Cap des Pinar military zone and can only be reached by sea. As with Sa Caleta, you can't anchor within 250 metres from the coast. Sa Platgeta is the largest beach in this area (45 metres long and 50 metres wide). It has light turquoise waters and a sandy seabed full of small pebbles.
Close by, there's an old rustic pier and a charming little thatched house surrounded by thousands of pine trees.
This is a natural paradise, home to many unique species of bird such as the peregrine falcon, the cormorant, the woodlark and the pipit.
It has been declared an "Area of Special Protection for Birds" and "Natural Area of Special Interest".
If you're sailing here, take care when passing by the Cova des Plom, la Punta Sabater and la Negra y la de Pagès. |
